The advent of NFC in access control
While RFID technology has been around since the 1950s, NFC (near field communication) is increasingly used in access control systems. After developing in the transport sector and then in the banking sector (thanks in particular to the NFC chips integrated into bank cards which allow contactless payment), companies are starting to use NFC technology to organise secure access for people to their premises.
